Accepting an Invitation
This guide explains how to accept an invitation to join an organisation on FundSorter, and what to do if you're asked to verify your email address first.
If you're an Admin looking to invite someone, see How to Add and Remove Users instead.
Accepting Your Invitation
- Open your invitation. This is either the link in the email we sent you, or a link the person who invited you has shared with you directly.
- Sign up or log in. If you were invited by email, you must be logged in with the same email address the invitation was sent to.
- On the invitation page, click Accept Invitation.
Invitations are single-use and expire after 14 days. If yours has expired, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
Verifying Your Email
This step only applies if you signed up with an email address and password. If you signed in with Google, your email is already verified and you can skip straight to accepting your invitation.
Before you can accept an invitation, your email address needs to be verified. If it hasn't been yet, you'll see a message asking you to verify it, and we'll send a verification email to your address.
To finish accepting:
- Open the verification email and click the link inside. Can't find it? Check your spam or junk folder — verification emails sometimes land there.
- Come back to the invitation page and click Continue.
- If the email didn't arrive, click Resend email to send a new one.
If you clicked the link but still see an error, come back to the invitation page and click Continue — in most cases your email is already verified and you'll be able to proceed.
Clicked the verification link but saw an error?
This one catches a lot of people, and it usually means everything worked.
Some email providers — Microsoft Outlook in particular — automatically open links in your inbox to scan them for security, before you ever click them. Our verification link is single-use, so that scan can use it up. By the time you click it yourself the link has already been spent, and you land on an error page, often something like "this site can't be reached".
If that happens, your email address has already been verified. Go back to the invitation page and click I've verified — Continue to finish accepting your invitation.
If continuing doesn't work, click Resend email for a fresh link and try again.
