Speech-to-text

The speech-to-text microphone is available anywhere you can type or edit text, including each section of your funding request. You can find it at the top left of each text field.

You can use the speech-to-text function in English or te reo Māori. Te reo Māori dictation and translation is supported through our partnership with Papa Reo, a New Zealand-based indigenous language technology platform working to keep te reo Māori alive in the digital world.

Click the microphone icon to start recording. You will see a red square and a 5-minute countdown once recording begins. Click again to stop. Your transcription will appear shortly in the text field — you can do this as many times as you need to build up your response.  Any text already in the field will remain as it is. Recording automatically stops after 5 minutes. For best results, speak clearly and close to your microphone.
