Opportunity alerts & notification settings
Fundsorter can send you a weekly round-up of the funding opportunities you care about that are opening or closing soon, so you don't miss a window. You choose what you hear about from the Notifications settings in the manage organisation tab. This article covers how to turn opportunity alerts on, what the weekly email looks like, and how to stop them.
Get alerts by favouriting an opportunity
When you scan a funding request, Fundsorter shows a list of matching opportunities. Each one has a star next to it.
Selecting the star does two things:
- It favourites the opportunity, so it moves to the top of your match list.
- It adds it to your opportunity alerts, so it can appear in your weekly round-up when it's opening or closing soon.
Favouriting is shared with your team. Because the opportunity is favourited for your whole organisation, everyone in that organisation can receive the alerts for it (unless they've turned alerts off for themselves — see below).
Select the star again to unfavourite. This removes it from the top of your match list and stops its alerts — it won't appear in future round-ups. This is how you stop alerts for a single opportunity.
Your weekly round-up
Once a week, Fundsorter sends a single Fundsorter - Weekly Round-up email covering the opportunities you've favourited that are opening or closing in the week ahead. Rather than one email per opportunity, everything is gathered into one digest under two headings:
- Opening this week — opportunities whose applications open in the coming week.
- Closing this week — opportunities whose applications close in the coming week.
Each line names the opportunity, its dates, and the funding need it relates to.
Opportunities that are always open don't appear under "Opening this week", as there's no opening date to alert you to.
To stop alerts for a single opportunity, unfavourite it in your matches — it simply won't appear in future round-ups.
Every round-up also includes footer links so you can adjust things straight from your inbox, without logging in:
- Unsubscribe from all opportunity alerts — turns off opportunity alerts for everything you've favourited, now and in the future.
- Manage notification settings — opens your notification settings in Fundsorter.
Manage your notification settings
Go to your Manage organsiation and open the Notifications tab. These settings apply to your individual account.
The Notifications tab lets you choose which Fundsorter emails you receive. Each user sets their own preferences — what you toggle here only affects the emails sent to you.
Your choices save automatically as you toggle them — there is no Save button.

- Required notifications — essential billing and application messages. These are always on and can't be turned off.
- Helpful tips — guidance on getting the most out of Fundsorter (4 emails over your first 6 weeks, then monthly).
- Newsletter — featured grants, learning opportunities, events, sector updates, and company news.
- Opportunity alerts — the weekly round-up of opportunities you've favourited that are opening or closing in the week ahead.
Changes save automatically as you switch each toggle.
If you belong to more than one organisation
If you are a part of several organisations, opportunity alerts give you an extra level of control:

- All my organisations — the master switch for opportunity alerts across every organisation you're in.
- Current organisation — turn alerts on or off for the organisation you're currently viewing, while keeping them on elsewhere.
Turning off the master switch turns off opportunity alerts everywhere. To receive alerts for one organisation but not another, leave the master switch on and turn off the individual organisation.
